Guest Responsibility & Liability
Lantern Camp is located in a natural setting comprising wooded and cleared areas in Orland, Maine. Our property features rural and mostly undeveloped land, and guests are fully responsible for their own safety while enjoying the outdoors. Guests should have basic wilderness awareness, including but not limited to: avoiding interactions with wildlife, properly storing food to prevent attracting animals, and exercising caution on uneven terrain.Lantern Camp is not liable for bodily injury (including death) or damage to personal property, including vehicles, due to exposure to inclement weather, wildlife, or the natural, rugged environment. By booking a stay at Lantern Camp, guests acknowledge and accept these risks and affirm they are prepared to navigate a rural setting responsibly.While Lantern Camp is designed to provide a peaceful and secluded experience, our cabins and shared facilities are used by all guests. We take reasonable measures to keep these spaces safe and clean; however, Lantern Camp is not liable for any illness, allergic reaction, or other health issue that may arise from exposure to allergens (including pet dander, cleaning products, or environmental elements), insects, or other natural hazards in the cabins or shared facilities. Guests are responsible for taking necessary health precautions, including managing known allergies, and for maintaining their own hygiene practices.Additionally, guests are responsible for arranging their own transportation to and from Lantern Camp. Lantern Camp does not provide transportation, and failure to secure transportation will not be considered a valid reason for cancellation or rescheduling outside of our standard policies.By booking a stay, guests acknowledge and accept these responsibilities and agree to comply with all safety guidelines provided by Lantern Camp.

Prices and Taxes
All rates are quoted in USD and are subject to a 9% Maine lodging tax. Prices are subject to change without notice. Any additional fees, such as cleaning or pet fees, will be disclosed at the time of booking. Bookings are not confirmed until full payment is received.

Payment and Terms at Check-in/Check-out
Full payment is required at the time of booking. Accepted payment methods include major credit and debit cards. Check-in time is 3:00 PM, and check-out time is 11:00 AM. Late check-out without prior approval may result in additional fees.

Cancellation Policy 
All reservations must be canceled at least 14 days prior to arrival to avoid 100% forfeiture of stay (including tax, applicable fees, and add-ons). You can cancel a reservation by contacting us. Failure to attend your reservation will result in 100% forfeiture of the reservation payment (including tax, applicable fees, and add-ons). No refund or credit will be provided or reinstated. To change the method of payment, you must cancel and rebook your desired reservation. Any payment method changes must be made at least 14 days prior to arrival and are subject to the cancellation policy. The cancellation policy applies to all reservations as well as any add-ons or reservation enhancements.

Rescheduling Policy
Rescheduling a reservation entails changing the dates of your current reservation. You can reschedule your reservation up to 72 hours prior to check-in time. The updated reservation will be subject to current rates and availability. Once a reservation is rescheduled, the cancellation policy will apply to the original dates of the reservation. You may extend your reservation at any time, subject to availability and pricing, without incurring a change fee. To change the method of payment, you must cancel and rebook your desired reservation. Any payment method changes must be made at least 15 days prior to arrival and are subject to the cancellation policy outlined above. You can reschedule your standard rate reservation by contacting us.

Guest Conduct & Property Rules
Quiet hours begin at 9PM and last until 8AM. During quiet hours, guests should refrain from having loud conversations, playing loud music, or generally creating any disturbance. Open flames are permitted only in designated firepit areas. Please never leave a fire unattended. Please use designated firewood only in firepits. Do not cut down branches or trees from the property’s woods. Extinguish fires using water, dirt, or sand only. Never leave food or trash outside as it will attract wild animals to the area. Please respect the local environment.Unruly, disruptive, and destructive behavior and criminal activity is prohibited. Parties, excessively loud music, or any disturbance that results in a neighbor’s complaint or a police visit to the property may result in the at-fault guest being removed from the property. 

Damage Policy
Guests are responsible for damages to the cabins, property, and structures on the property, beyond normal wear and tear.

Traveling with Minors
Minors under 18 years of age must be accompanied by a parent or legal guardian at all times. Guests are responsible for the safety and supervision of minors.

Accessibility or Special Needs
Lantern Camp strives to accommodate guests with special needs; however, due to the natural terrain and structure of our accommodations, some areas may be less accessible. Please contact us in advance to discuss specific requirements.

Pet Policy
Dogs are allowed on the property for a $59 pet fee per stay. Dogs must remain on leash when outside. Dogs are not to be left unattended in the cabins or anywhere on the property. Dog waste must be cleaned up immediately. . Guests assume full responsibility for any damage or injury caused by their pet. All guests must be aware that dogs may have occupied the cabin previous to their own stay. Pets other than dogs are not permitted in the cabins. Lantern Camp is not liable for injuries or allergic reactions caused by guest pets. Dogs will be expected to be well behaved and properly vaccinated. No other animals other than dogs will be permitted.

Weapons
Weapons of any kind are not allowed on the property. 

Smoking
Smoking, including the use of e-cigarettes, is prohibited inside the cabins or any building on the property. Litter is not permitted and guests must clean up cigarette butts. Guests may be subject to an additional cleaning fee of up to $150 if a guest is found to be smoking inside of a cabin. 

Parking
Parking is available on-site for registered guests only. Vehicles must be parked in designated areas. Lantern Camp is not responsible for loss, damage, or theft of vehicles or personal belongings.

Lost and Found
Lantern Camp is not responsible for lost or stolen items on the property. It is the guests’ responsibility to ensure all personal belongings are collected upon checkout. 

Events
Lantern Camp occasionally hosts private and community events. Guests will be notified in advance if an event may impact their stay.

Dispute Resolution/Issues
Any disputes or concerns should be reported to Lantern Camp management during the stay to allow for resolution. If a resolution is not reached, disputes will be handled in accordance with the laws of the State of Maine.

 Use of Personal Information
Guest information is collected for booking purposes and will not be shared with third parties without consent, except as required by law. See our Privacy Policy for more details.

 Liability
Lantern Camp is located in a natural setting and provides access to outdoor amenities that may pose inherent risks, including exposure to wildlife, allergens, uneven terrain, campfires, and other natural hazards. By booking, guests acknowledge these risks and agree to assume full responsibility for their participation. Lantern Camp is not responsible for accidents, injuries, allergic reactions, or loss of personal property resulting from the use of facilities or natural surroundings.

Indemnity
Guests agree to indemnify and hold harmless Lantern Camp, its owners, employees, and affiliates from any claims, damages, or expenses arising from their actions or negligence during their stay.

Force Majeure
Lantern Camp is not liable for failure to fulfill obligations due to events beyond our control, such as natural disasters, extreme weather, or government restrictions.

Third Party Rights
These terms do not confer any rights to third parties.

Waiver
Failure to enforce any provision of these terms does not constitute a waiver of that provision.

 Severance
If any part of these terms is deemed unenforceable, the remaining provisions will continue in full force and effect.
